Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information the mobile game Sudoku – Classic Puzzle Board (the "App") collects, why, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. The App is published by Mobicell Infotech LLP ("we", "us", "our").
- You can play without creating an account or giving us your name, email or phone number.
- We collect game progress, device and app information, purchase records and crash reports so the App works, saves your progress and keeps improving.
- Ads in the App are requested as child-directed, with a G (general audiences) content rating. Google does not show personalized ads based on interests.
- We do not sell your personal information. We do not collect precise location, contacts, photos or payment card details.
- No service in the App can read your device's advertising ID.
- You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete account. See Delete your data.
1. Who we are
Mobicell Infotech LLP is responsible for the App and for the personal information processed through it. Where data protection law uses these terms, we are the "data controller" or "data fiduciary".

2. Children and families
Sudoku is a puzzle game for everyone, including children. We do not ask players their age, so the App treats every player as if they could be a child:
- All ad requests are marked as child-directed and as coming from a user under the age of consent. Ads are limited to content suitable for general audiences (G rating).
- Ads are not personalized based on a player's interests or behaviour in other apps.
- We never ask for a real name, email address, phone number, home address, photo or precise location.
- The App has no chat or messaging, and there is no way for players to share free text with other players. Names shown in leagues are picked from computer-generated names unless the player signs in (see section 5).
- Purchases go through Google Play or the Apple App Store, which offer parental controls and purchase approval (for example Google Family Link and Apple Ask to Buy).
Parents and guardians: we collect only the limited information described in this policy and use it to run the App, keep it secure, fix crashes and understand how it is used. You can review your child's information, ask us to delete it, or ask us to stop collecting it at any time by emailing hcgamesstudio@gmail.com. You can also stop all further collection by uninstalling the App. If you believe your child has given us personal information in a way this policy does not describe, contact us and we will delete it.
3. Information we collect
3.1 Information collected automatically
- Device and app information: device model, operating system and version, app version, language, time zone, screen size, and general network information.
- Identifiers: a random player account ID created by our game backend (PlayFab) when you first open the App, a device identifier used to sign in to that account automatically, an app-instance ID from Firebase, and a push-notification subscription ID from OneSignal. The App does not give any service access to your device's advertising ID.
- Gameplay and progress: puzzles started and completed, difficulty and mode, scores, times, mistakes, hints and tools used, achievements, streaks, daily challenge and season progress, league results, settings, and the balance of in-game items such as gems.
- Usage and analytics events: which screens you open, which features you use, when ads are shown or rewarded, and how long sessions last.
- Crash reports and diagnostics: stack traces, device state when a crash happened, and short notes about what the App was doing (for example the screen and puzzle size).
- Approximate location: our service providers may work out your country or region from your IP address. We do not collect GPS or precise location.
- Install source: on Android, the Google Play Install Referrer tells us whether the App was installed from a store search or from a shared link or campaign. When you share the App, the link includes a campaign tag (for example "settings") so we can count how many installs sharing brings in.
3.2 Information you choose to give us
- Optional sign-in with Google or Apple. If you sign in to keep your progress across devices, the provider confirms your account to our backend, and we receive an account identifier for it. We may also receive the name and profile photo on that account, if it has them. With Sign in with Apple, you can hide your name. We do not ask for your email address. PlayFab may record the email associated with a linked account as part of the link, but we do not use it to contact you or for marketing. We never receive your password.
- League name: if you do not sign in, you can pick a display name from computer-generated suggestions.
- Notification permission: whether you allow reminders.
- Support messages: if you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message.
3.3 Information that stays on your device
Your current puzzle, settings (sound, vibration, theme, language) and a local copy of your progress are saved on your device so the App works offline. Uninstalling the App or clearing its data removes this local copy.
3.4 What we do not collect
We do not collect precise location, contacts, photos, videos, files, microphone or camera input, SMS, call logs or payment card details. The App uses your device's vibration motor for haptic feedback; this does not involve any data collection.
4. How we use information
- To run the game: generate puzzles, save and restore progress, sync progress to the cloud, and deliver items you earn or buy.
- To run leaderboards, leagues, daily challenges, seasons, streaks and achievements.
- To verify purchases and subscriptions with Google Play or the App Store, prevent fraud, and remove items from refunded or charged-back purchases.
- To show ads in free play, limit how often they appear, and reward you when you choose to watch a rewarded ad.
- To send reminders and news you have allowed.
- To find and fix crashes and bugs, measure performance, and understand which features players use so we can improve the game.
- To measure where new players come from (store, shared links, campaigns), in aggregate.
- To answer support requests, enforce our Terms of Service, and meet legal obligations.
We do not use your information to build advertising profiles, and we do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing that have legal or similarly significant effects.
5. Leaderboards and leagues
Leaderboards and weekly leagues show other players your display name, avatar (if any), scores and rank:
- If you have not signed in, your display name is either a generated name you picked or a randomly assigned one.
- If you sign in with Google or Apple and have not already set a name, the name and profile photo on that account may become your display name and avatar.
To avoid showing your real name, play without signing in. You can also email us to have your display name or avatar reset.
6. Advertising
The free version of the App shows ads from Google AdMob:
- Banner: on the puzzle screen only, while you are playing.
- Full-screen ads: between puzzles, after a short "Advertisement" notice.
- Rewarded videos: only when you choose to watch one, in exchange for a reward.
- Every ad request is tagged as child-directed and under the age of consent, with a maximum content rating of G. With these settings, Google does not use personalized advertising or remarketing, and limits how it collects and uses device identifiers.
- AdMob may still collect device information, IP address, approximate location and ad-interaction data. It uses these to deliver ads, limit how often they show, measure them and prevent fraud. See how Google uses information in ads.
- In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, and wherever else the law requires it, the App uses Google's User Messaging Platform to ask for any consent that is needed. When the privacy options form applies to you, you can change your choice at any time under Settings → Privacy Settings.
- Buying Remove Ads, owning the legacy Premium version, or subscribing to Sudoku Plus turns off banner and full-screen ads. Rewarded videos stay available only for players without Premium or Plus who choose to watch them.
We are not responsible for the content of third-party ads or the websites they link to. Please tell us if you see an ad that seems inappropriate.
7. In-app purchases
The App offers optional purchases: gem packs, item bundles, Remove Ads, a Season Pass and the Sudoku Plus subscription. All payments are handled by Google Play or the Apple App Store. We never see or store your card or bank details.
To deliver your items and protect against fraud, we receive and keep a record of each purchase:
- what was bought;
- the order ID and purchase token;
- the time of purchase;
- its status (for example pending, active, cancelled or refunded);
- for subscriptions, the expiry date.
Our game server checks each purchase with Google Play or Apple before granting it, and later checks again for refunds and cancellations.
8. Notifications
With your permission, the App schedules local reminders on your device (for example, to finish an unfinished puzzle or keep a streak). We also send push notifications through OneSignal, which receives a push token, device type, language and time zone so it can deliver them.
You can turn notifications off at any time in the App's settings or in your device settings.
9. Third-party services
We use the following service providers to run the App. Each processes data under its own privacy policy, and under our instructions where it acts as our processor.
| Service | Purpose | Data involved |
|---|---|---|
| Google AdMob and User Messaging Platform | Ads and ad consent | Device info, IP address, approximate location, ad interactions, consent choices. The App does not allow access to the advertising ID. |
| Google Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics | Usage analytics, crash reporting, install-source measurement | App-instance ID, usage events, device info, crash traces, approximate location. Advertising ID collection and ad-personalization signals are turned off. |
| PlayFab (Microsoft) | Player accounts, cloud saves, leaderboards and leagues, purchase verification | Player account ID, device-login ID, linked sign-in provider ID, display name and avatar, progress and stats, purchase records, IP address |
| OneSignal | Push notifications | Push token, subscription ID, device type, language, time zone, notification interactions |
| Meta (Facebook SDK) | Measuring installs and app launches from our promotions | App install and app-open events and device info. Automatic event logging and advertising ID collection are turned off. We do not use Facebook Login, and the App never posts to Facebook. |
| Google Play (Billing, Install Referrer, In-App Review, Sign-In) | Purchases, install source, review prompts, optional sign-in | Purchase records, install referrer, Google account ID, name and photo if you sign in |
| Apple (App Store, Sign in with Apple) | Purchases and optional sign-in on iOS | Purchase records, Apple account ID, name if you share it |
The App does not ask to track you across other companies' apps and websites.
10. When we share information
We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We share information only:
- with the service providers listed above, to run the App;
- with other players, limited to what leaderboards and leagues display (section 5);
- when the law requires it, or to protect the rights, safety and security of our players, our company or others;
- as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. This policy would continue to protect your information, and we would tell you if it became subject to a different policy.
11. How long we keep it
- Account, progress and leaderboard data: while your player account is in use. Accounts with no activity for 24 months may be deleted.
- Purchase records: as long as needed to provide what you bought and to meet tax, accounting and fraud-prevention obligations.
- Analytics and crash data: according to each provider's retention settings, generally no longer than 14 months for analytics and 90 days for crash reports.
- Support emails: up to 2 years after your issue is resolved.
- Local data: until you uninstall the App or clear its data.
When you ask us to delete your data, we delete it or make it anonymous within 30 days, except records we must keep by law.
12. Your choices and rights
- Notifications: turn them off in the App's settings or in your device settings.
- Ad consent (where applicable): Settings → Privacy Settings.
- Ads: buy Remove Ads or subscribe to Sudoku Plus.
- Sign out: from the account screen. Signing out disconnects the device from your account.
- Delete account: Settings → Delete account. See section 13.
Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to:
- access your personal information, correct it, delete it, or receive a copy of it;
- restrict or object to how we use it;
- withdraw consent;
- nominate someone to act on your behalf;
- complain to a data protection authority.
These rights come from laws such as the EU and UK GDPR, India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, US state privacy laws including California's, and the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
To use any of these rights, email hcgamesstudio@gmail.com. We will reply within 30 days. We may need to confirm that the account is yours, for example by asking you to send the request from the device you play on, or to describe your progress. We will not treat you differently for exercising your rights.
13. Delete your data
In the App: open Settings → Delete account and confirm. This needs an internet connection. Your player account is deleted from our servers right away, and PlayFab finishes removing it within 30 days. This covers:
- cloud progress, stats and achievements;
- leaderboard and league entries;
- your display name and avatar;
- linked Google or Apple sign-in IDs.
The App also clears that account's progress from your device, resets its analytics ID so new data is not linked to the deleted account, and starts you on a new, empty guest account.
By email: if you can no longer open the App, email hcgamesstudio@gmail.com with the subject "Delete my Sudoku data". Tell us your display name as shown in the App, and if you signed in, whether it was with Google or Apple. Do not send us your password. We will confirm the request and delete the account within 30 days.
What to know:
- Deletion removes your progress, gems and in-game items. It cannot be undone.
- Active subscriptions are not cancelled by deletion. Cancel them in Google Play or the App Store.
- Remove Ads and Sudoku Plus belong to your store account, so you can get them back on a new account with Restore purchases.
- Some purchase records may be kept as required by tax and accounting law.
- Analytics and crash data collected before deletion are not linked to your name, and they expire under the retention periods in section 11.
- Your push-notification subscription is not linked to your account. Turn off notifications or uninstall the App to remove it.
- To remove everything else stored on your device, uninstall the App.
14. Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Purchases are checked on our server rather than trusted from the device, and access to our back-end systems is limited to people who need it. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you and the authorities of a breach where the law requires it.
15. International transfers
We are based in India, and our service providers process data in India, the United States, the European Union and other countries. Where data protection law requires it, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses offered by our providers.
16. Legal bases (EEA and UK players)
- Contract: to run the game, save progress, provide leaderboards and deliver purchases.
- Legitimate interests: to keep the App secure, fix crashes, measure and improve the game, and show non-personalized ads that keep it free. We balance these interests against your rights.
- Consent: where required, for example for ad-related storage on your device and for notifications. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legal obligation: for example to keep tax and accounting records.
17. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when the App or the law changes, and change the effective date above. If a change is significant, we will also tell you in the App before it takes effect.
18. Contact and grievances
